Make good use of a party’s after-effectsĮvery time you earn enough Party Points, Phil will throw a party for the entire island. This is especially helpful when you’re just starting out, because having an abundance of coconuts and swamp gas will make completing Phil’s tasks pretty easy. Gathering points and other buildings often need minions to work them, so make sure you assign some to the task. It means patiently waiting to reach the proper level or collecting the proper items, respectively, but it beats spending premium money just to get things a little faster. If you’re patient enough you can even avoid spending them to unlock new gathering slots or upgrading your storage space early. Instead, hang on to them for permanent upgrades like adding an extra item slot to item construction buildings like the Armory. Simply not spending premium currency when the tutorial asks is a good start, but you’re also going to be much better off if you don’t ever spend doubloons to speed things up. Generally speaking you’ll only have to wait a minute or so for the tasks to finish, so why not hang on to the doubloons it gives you instead of wasting them? There’s a good chance they’ll be far more useful later. Specifically when it involves spending doubloons (i.e. Okay that might sound a bit extreme, but what I mean is that you don’t need to do everything the tutorial tells you. So it's not like all those other free to play games then? There's a lot of micromanagement involved as you try and keep all of your minions productive but there's also a lot of fun to be had in the minigames. Other than that ordering minions around is incredibly satisfying. Well, for a start it's free, like all of the best things in life. My favourite is the one where you ride on the back of a shark to collect golden shark teeth. Well, they love a good minigame and there are tons of those here. What do they do for fun when they're not partying? Every action they perform gives you party points and when you reach a set number of those you level up and all of your minions have a lovely little party. Their favourite thing is partying and that's the primary goal of Minions Paradise. Well, oddly enough you give them mundane tasks to do like picking coconuts, napping, or whacking pinatas. It's okay though because he's setting up his own little island paradise to cheer them all up.
